Sometimes again...

Sometimes, when you are doing things, while most of the people think you are doing the right thing, there'll always be one or two person shaking their heads or trying to find faults in you, to sobotage you and to mock you. There'll be a few times where they'll do it successfully, to pull you down from the high. Really, if you didn't think through things thoroughly, you'll make a fool of yourself...

First thing

Everything feels so different this semester, meeting to so many people last school holiday, I feel weird having to say "hi" every now and then...

Dawn of a new semester

In just less than eight hours, a new semester will commence, guess what? The first lesson is the dreadful maths. Tell you the truth, this sem... It's gonna be a boring one for me, there's not really any modules that I'm particularly interested with besides Japanese Language 2.

Many things had changed, I wonder...
I'm damn nervous now, and little excited at the same time, I'm looking forward to it!

How it should be?

Spending a lot of time with your friends may proved yourself wrong of what you think you would be, or at lease to what you don't wished to be. They may make you think that you were important, but the actions they do tells you otherwise. Maybe it's yourself, the actions you do or the things you said made them do the otherwise, but they do bring joy sometimes.

It's confusing to think, the more you think, the more it contradicts. This is the conclusion that I got after four days of chalet with some old friends. The four days stay reminded me of something, "Am I a changed person? Or am I the old me?"...

THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

"Good day! Madame and Monsieur! Welcome to the Opera Populaire! Let me present to you, THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA!"
After 10 long years the PHANTOM is back in town again! With bigger sets and cast. There's only one word to descript the experience,

Breathtaking!

It's wow-ing to see the chandelier crashing on the stage, and there were sparks and fire gusting out from the stage as well. If you are watching the stage version for the very first time, you'll be astoned by the lightings, moving sets and the special effects they used, the depth of the stage and the moving sets makes it dynamic and really interesting to watch. The costumes were great, colourful and the sets were gigantic. I'm mesmerised by it! I was charmed by the music, and everything just went really well with it. It's an experience that I'll never forget!

April fifth!

April 5th was the day, the day where it came to an end. After 3 weeks of immerse planning and 4 days of labour, the School of Information Technology Freshmen Orientation '07/'08 ended with a success! You'll not know how much you've learnt until the very last day. This is the time where you'll really know what “give and take” is, and also fulfilling your obligations as an Orientation Group leader, there's many thing that you have to abide to as an OGL, you'll have to give up many things like time, and some of your bad "behaviours". You'll have to come out of your comfort zone be a role model for the freshmen to see, and it takes tons of courage to bond them together, you've to make your stance for something that you think its right and fighting for it.

2nd – 5th of April, its where the real actions is, it is also the time that you'll learn most, and its also where new bridges are made. Together with 3 other OGLs, we were appointed to class of MI0705. They were so dead on the first day, I guess everyone was just shy, as the day pass they become bonded, they even make fun of us OGLs. After the grand finale, they had their very first class outing and that’s where their story begins. Besides MI07o5, I was also appointed to another group, the dancer group, they are individuals form various IT diplomas. They were to perform on stage on the grand finale. This is a bunch of crazy kids, they are talkative and obnoxious. With another 3 OGLs, we taught them the moves, and they just move on with it. They are really good at it! I was really nervous when they were on stage, but they just pull through!
The bunch of CRAZY "money" kids("money" came from the song "show me your money" which they have to dance to)

Through out the 3 weeks of planning, these thoughts came to me, “why wasn’t I chosen to be the one to lead the OGLs? Do the ICs have what it takes to lead us? Why wasn’t I given an important post? And why I give up the chance of being an IC?” I wanted to give up halfway through, but to think about it, actually I didn't do much for people to notice me and then I remember this quote,

“Good leadership means being able to lead, follow and listen”.

Maybe my time was not here yet, if I can’t even follow a simple instruction, how can I lead people? I am glad that I was not chosen, as it comes a greater responsibility that I may not know how to handle yet.

On the last diploma debrief, the seniors give us a piece of advice or encouragement. Coincidently, the encouragement was the same as the above quote. They can’t be that observant, can they? Or was my craving too visible?

The piece of encouragement
